Courses in Review with Jayden
Human Comms 2
May you all encounter a classroom rich in thought and intoxicated in the variety of emotions. Without a doubt, this course has been a godsend—a clarifier and liberator. I have left not only with theory, but practical applications that I use to navigate the world. I loved attending this class, I loved researching for all the assignments and I loved that I was encouraged to think & search deeply. My peers engaged in critical discussion and offered deep introspection and honest observations—it was the embodiment of the ideal classroom. My highest regard to Dr. B, who made a deliberate effort to learn everyone’s name and face in the classroom, which she did with flying colours. Simple showings of goodness.
Entrepreneurship
I honestly took this course because I needed the three credits to fulfil my academic requirements. It is entirely unrelated to my core area of study, and it had its… maladies. Still, it was a good course, and I’ll definitely revisit it for personal study.

A word to the wise: had I actually revised for the exam, I would have been more confident in what I read. But life is like a bottomless bottle of Puncheon – devilishly intoxicating.
Writing About Literature
Last year, I did a course where I did not feel welcomed. It was literary in nature and I felt the deficiencies I had in my analysis of literature were not resolved by the course’s content—to the extent that would allow me to be successful in academia. However, I decided to put aside my afflictions, resentments and valid deterrents and enter the gayelle one last time. I’m glad I got over myself. This course was special, as I read more and studied more, I came to reconcile with my own literary insecurities and find applicable resolve. I think one of the most generous things you can offer another person, is not the solution, but the tools and goodwill that they can create their own solutions. It was a homecoming.

I have to express my deepest gratitude to the indefatigable Ms. Greaves. When strange happenings unfolded in my life, she was a voice of confidence that reined me in. Academia does not have to be clinical and cold, there is always room for humanity and to show up for someone you hardly know.
The Review
There is still shelter in knowledge.

A blurred photo showing rows of blue plastic chairs, likely in a classroom or hall setting. The image is out of focus, but a black bag hanging from one of the chairs is visible in the centre. The floor appears to be tiled, and there is bright light coming from the background.
